The author, Jiwun Kim loves children, so she has started to draw children's book. She graduated from Academy of Art University and is working as a designer in South Korea. She was inspired by her husband who is a doctor to develop the Dr.Brownie character. She plans to write more stories about other inspiring charaters like Dr.Brownie!!

1. How do you develop 'Dr.Brownie'?
- I love doodlings using various materials. Someday I drew a bear without facial expression using very dark brown water color. It was so attrative to me. Eventhough he seemed like he wasn't emotional animal, I could tell his kindness and his sweet personality. So I made this lovely bear, Dr. Brownie.
2. So do you use watercolor for drawing Dr.Brwonie? Whatelse do you use?
- Oh, yes. I use watercolor. I love watercolor. And I use Prisma colorpencils for drawing details.
Sometimes I like using oil pastels, computer, and pencil!
3. I read your profile, did you graduate from AAU? What major did you study?
- I worked at the biggest fashion company in korea as a character designer. Because I love children so much, I wanted work with children. So I decided to be an art teacher and studied art education at AAU. But I love not only children but also drawing. Lol
4. I heard that you were inspired by your husband to develop Dr.Brownie.
- Yes. He helped me a lot develop charaters. Actually his appearance and characteristic look like Dr. Brownie. That's why Dr. Brownie is so lovely to me. Also when I drew hospital scene, he gave many tips of details.
5. What's your next step?
- I love making animal stories. Maybe I would continue draw animal friends.
